To our knowledge, this is the second chapter by our author with many research articles documenting the role of the patient and observer in facilitating insight. A related idea is that care may operate by more demanding and repetitive forms of communication or communication agents, such as physicians, nurses, and physicians who navigate routine patient care and make calls themselves. These patients may be less sensitive in detecting and providing insight, but often, they sometimes never receive the cues they need to begin revealing their own perspectives. Throughout this document, we explore how these patients could communicate with nurses of various kinds, thus, possibly using insight to help them start to work through their own life experiences and develop perspective-taking strategies and explanations. The article also illustrates some of the elements discussed in establishing the role that patients’ and observers’ subjective experiences play in supporting insight. At some point, we start to find the relation of the experience of the patient with the observer, to the sense of the observer’s place in others’ lives, and to the patient’s ability to reveal their own feelings about themselves. We agree with the literature that patient-observer interaction plays a vital role inside of a clinical setting.
